On June 2 of 2015, after almost 8 months of planning and preparation, a freight container safely arrived to the Township of Katutura in Namibia, Africa. Inside the container was an assortment of Arnoff Moving and Storage boxes carefully packed, organized and labeled with over 3,000 books and a large assortment of new and softly used soccer equipment for the purpose of enhancing educational and recreational activities in a much needed part of the world.

How did this all come about? It all started with a goal of an organization named “Kickin’ back, Ltd.” and an amazing bunch of chance meetings and miracles that brought together integral groups of people from different areas and backgrounds with a common objective.A tremendous outpouring of support came from people in the Hudson Valley through Marlborough High School, Golds Gym, Rose and Kiernan, Inc., Owens Truckmen Inc., numerous soccer clubs, Arnoff Moving and Storage and several others.

Kickin' Back is a charity that is building connections and educational opportunities through soccer.  According to their website, http://kickinbackltd.org, they are a “501c organization working to maximize the vast potential and need for sustained attention on adolescent children in under-served communities through the use of soccer as a tool for positive social and physical development.”According to Kiernan McIlvenny of Kickin’ Back, Ltd., “This donation will support over 2,000 children.”

The Arnoff family started by donating 2 Homepak™ portable storage units to Gold’s Gym in LaGrange, NY.  These units, measuring 7.5' tall by 8' deep by 5' wide can fit a sizeable amount of goods.  As they got filled by community members, the co-founders of the organization, the Mcllevenny family came to the Pack and Ship Facility at 1282 Dutchess Turnpike to obtain the Arnoff boxes that would be used to pack the supplies. The boxes were then stored at one of the Poughkeepsie facilities until it was time for them to be put in their final freight container donated by the Owen’s family of Owens Truckmen, Inc. whom actually shipped the 20 foot container.

Strategizing and executing a once impossible move is every day business at Arnoff.  Arnoff is now making it’s community the entire world, while specializing in the local communities of Albany, the Hudson Valley, Connecticut and Florida. As an agent for North American Van lines, Arnoff can go almost anywhere in the USA and overseas with their Global Logistics department coordinating shipments and deliveries worldwide!  The Arnoff family was happy to help with the storage of the supplies.
