Get to know David Zwierankin in May’s edition of Experts in the Field. David is a manager of our final mile department based in Malta. In this role, he helps to bridge the gaps between the customer service, warehousing, and dispatch sides of the department to provide better coordination and communication through the entire logistics process.

David’s story of how he joined the Arnoff team is unique! He was driving for Uber in the region and one day gave a ride to Nic Arnoff. The two got to talking about career opportunities and since 2018, David has excelled through various roles at the company.

David continued to drive as he started his career with Arnoff, this time making daily runs around the region delivering products directly to homes on behalf of our retail clients. He was also in a position to be on call 24/7 for our customers in biotech and semiconductors industries, so that they could get the supplies they needed in a timely fashion to continue their operations. While set to certain responsibilities, David has often stepped into new roles unprompted to help keep our operations and teams on track during hectic periods.

Advice from this Expert? David believes it’s important to stay calm and positive in any situation. And, in true team mentality, do what you can to set up the next person for success.

His favorite part of the job is when some creative problem solving is needed. There are many moving parts to final mile operations, from communication with customers, to handling products in the warehouse, to coordinating deliveries. Any career in logistics requires someone to be a problem-solver and solutions-focused.

David believes there’s more to Arnoff than people know. It’s hard to grasp the vast number of service we provide and the day-to-day work that teams do behind the scenes.

Earlier this month, David received the “Employee of the Year” award at our annual company meeting. While this award does not require specific criteria for one to earn it, David’s expertise in the field was certainly a reason. His ambition to continue advancing in his career path at Arnoff and initiative to go above and beyond factors into the honor of “Employee of the Year”, and now Expert in the Field.
